Projects in India

It is here in India that the story of the Foundation began. It is here that we have developed a series of initiatives focused principally on the support of Tibetan refugees in India.

Adoption from a distance, creation of clinics, schools and villages: these are the initiatives we have been involved in for ten years in favour of the Tibetan people forced to flee from their land.  Here we tell the story of one child, Thupten, but hoping to soon be able to tell of many more. And then there is the story to tell of the clinic in Dharamsala, a real Accident and Emergency Centre for the Tibetan refugees. And again at Dharamsala we have contributed to create the Tibetan Children's Village, thought of for children refugees, and a convent which caters for more than eighty girls. To mention also is the story of Jhamtse Gatsal, a community for 90 orphaned children, this an orphanage wanted by Lobsang, a budhist monk who lives in the district of Tawang, a remote zone of Arunachal Pradesh, in the north east of India. Remote zones need assistance and in Hanley in Ladakh we have helped out and reintroduced cows so that the children can drink fresh milk once again. And a final mention goes to the contribution we have made towards the realisation of a University complex for the Tibetan Children's Village, this wanted by the Dalai Lama.
