COSTA FAMILY FOUNDATION AND ANDREA TORTORA
CREATE TOGETHER A PANETTONE
TO SUPPORT THE LUM HA' RANCH IN MEXICO.
Delicious because this panettone is prepared by Andrea Tortora for the Costa Family Foundation.
Precious because the proceeds from the sale will be used to support a new project that sees the Foundation involved in Mexico and precisely in the area at the foot of the mountains of Chichihuistan, which has been abandoned for decades. Pollution, deforestation, neglect of crops and social degradation make this one of the poorest areas in the country. This is where Lum Ha', a company that is working to restore abandoned local agriculture, to reforest adjacent areas, to make the polluted spring water drinkable, to help the local population by supporting them with new projects of work, education and social involvement, is being born.
Because of their common values, the Costa Family Foundation has chosen to support Lum Ha', an eco-sustainable farm, which works according to the concept of permaculture, and which wants to restore the link between environment and community, between man and nature through the sharing of know-how, training courses, and the introduction of alternative farming techniques respecting the place. From pig breeding, to the restoration and recovery of aquifers, to reforestation, to the saving of resources through the installation of energy-saving stoves in homes. The dream that Lum Ha' is working on is to create an autonomous agricultural cooperative, for the families of the community, for a long-term self-sustaining and independent activity.
