Projects in Uganda
Uganda is where our vision takes its most tangible and comprehensive form. From the remote plains of Karamoja to the densely populated district of Mukono, we are committed to building long-term, sustainable projects that protect rights, empower communities, and create real opportunities—especially for the most vulnerable. Together with trusted local and international partners, we work to strengthen autonomy, dignity, and resilience through concrete, systemic action.
Uganda is a country of extraordinary resilience and complexity, where the challenges of poverty, malnutrition, and limited access to essential services intersect with a vibrant human spirit. Since 2012, Uganda has become the main focus of our efforts and funding. Our work is rooted in long-term partnerships and a deep understanding of the context.
In the Karamoja region—one of the poorest and most arid areas of the country—we collaborate with the Belluno-based NGO “Insieme si Può...” to implement structural, health, and education-focused projects. Our goal is to secure the Right to Education, Food, and Healthcare for as many people as possible, because we believe these are the foundations of human dignity.
The fight against malnutrition and the promotion of food security are central to our Wine to Water program, launched in 2017. Thanks to corporate partnerships, such as with STI, we support access to clean water through filtration systems and safe water sources—transforming every drop into hope.
Another key element of our intervention is agroforestry. In a land heavily affected by climate change, we support pastoralist communities in diversifying their livelihoods. Projects like Sowing Hope promote sustainable farming practices, improve local diets, and help build family economies through resilient agricultural systems.
Since 2017, we have also supported the work of Choose Life Home Based Care, a local association helping people living with HIV reach economic self-sufficiency and social inclusion. Through income-generating activities like raising rabbits and goats, participants regain confidence, develop skills, and become agents of their own transformation.
In the district of Mukono, near the capital Kampala, we support Effatà Italia Charity Organisation ODV and its founder Silvia Marcolin, who has lived and worked in Uganda since 2020. Effatà’s projects focus on vulnerable children and families living in extreme poverty, providing school sponsorships, medical care, and basic necessities. At the heart of their efforts is the construction of a Children's Home—a place of care and long-term shelter for abandoned children, children with disabilities, and their mothers. Complete with a small farm, vocational training spaces, and community access, the Family Home is designed to be a sustainable, open hub for protection and opportunity.
Through these interconnected initiatives, our presence in Uganda is not simply about delivering aid. It’s about building systems of care, pathways to independence, and spaces of shared dignity—where futures can be imagined, and lives can change for good.
